Alteration & Extension Projects

New build ancillary church building, within the grounds of a Grade I Listed church, to provide additional facilities including a flexible meeting/communal room, office,vestry, kitchen & WC facilities with the addition of attic space for Sunday schools.

Conversion of two Grade II Listed derelict Estate properties into a single residential property with a timber framed extension to the rear and glass box link separating the new & old. Complete overhaul of the existing building raising the properties thermal values above those expected in a new build to allow for the efficient running of a Ground Source Heat Pump to provide the properties only source of heating & hot water.

The property has won awards for both LABC (best extension & alteration) & Conservation area Advisory Committee Design Awards (2013)

The removal of a 1980's timber framed conservatory and replaced with an adjoining timber framed family room with glazed gable overlooking the south downs with other internal alterations including moving the kitchen from onside of the house nearer the family room, converting an external store into a shower room and new family bathroom within existing study.

Removal of an existing 1980s flat roof single storey extension and first floor dormer.  In fill two-storey extension to the rear of the property comprising of a utility room & shower room with two additional bathrooms on the first floor. A single storey contemporary side extension with large roof lights to comprise of a re-configured kitchen and dining area.

Submission of a retrospective planning application for a timber carport that was put up in place of an asbestos garage by the clients not aware that they would require planning application due to the fact that the structure is outside the permitted development because it is within 1 metre of the property boundary, help and drawings were requested with a quick turn around to comply with the Local Authorities requests.

Removal of an existing unsafe timber flat roofed garage and replace with a brick garage and pitched tile roof along with a small rear extension to comprise of a utility room with a lean-to tiled roof pitched back towards the house.

Removal of an existing single storey double garage and glazed conservatory and replace with a two storey side extension and orangery to the rear.  Side extension to include: integral single garage, study, utility room, cloakroom & extended kitchen with two additional bedrooms & bathroom on the first floor.

 

Building Conversion Projects

Prepare sketch scheme for a barn conversion including internal 3dimensional visualisations to aid the Local Planning Authority in seeing the merit & potential of this conversion with lightweight free-standing pods providing the private spaces and open plan living areas with minimal partitions to allow full view of the existing timber structure.

Conversion of a small stable building into a residential property for holiday let comprising of two bedrooms living & dining area, bathroom & shower room.  The stable was in a conservation area and therefore a majority of the door & window positions had to remain as existing, however a new entrance from the roadside was introduced and this would form the main entrance into the property as access over the existing yard, to the side of the property, was not permitted due to neighbouring property covenants.

Conversion of a large stable building into a residential property and a holiday let.  The old cattle sheds were converted into a large 3 bedroom property with spacial accommodation comprising of Sitting room, kitchen/utility/larder, cloak room, two large double bedrooms on the ground floor with shared family bathroom with a large art workshop. A further double bedroom was located on the mezzanine overlooking the large  living room & double height glazed openings.

The adjoining barn was converted into a comfortable two bedroom property for holiday let comprising of large living room & kitchen, cloakroom, two double bedrooms & family bathroom all on a single level.

Conservation Projects

Conservation works carried out to an early 17th Century Grade II* Listed Almshouse in Petworth, West Sussex. Shadowing a senior conservation accredited architect overseeing the repair works to the front elevation including removing cement pointing and render, repointing in lime mortars, specialist brickwork, lime rendering, new metal windows and an overhaul of cast iron rainwater goods.  Internal structural works to consolidate the existing timber frame and facilitate internal alterations including an attic conversion into a guest flat and the rebuilding of a timber frame jetty section following discovery of the poor condition and weak super-structure.
